St Oswald’s Summer Fair Saturday 12 noon-3pm.

St Oswald’s Church is holding its summer Fair tomorrow 29 June between 12 noon and 3pm

The Fair includes: gifts tombola, children’s stall, cake stall, books/music, drinks tombola, licensed bar, games/activities, BBQ, face painting, bric a brac, Zumba, strawberries and cream, raffle prizes, jewellery staff, hot and cold food

I will be running a stall which will include:

My new pamphlet on the Black African and Caribbean history of Croydon

My pamphlet on Croydon suffrage campaigning

British Black history titles

Norbury residents Eric Sanders autobiography and two volume novel

Norbury Library Plans

I will also bring with me print outs of the Library plans for people to look at and comment on.

Since moving to Norbury in July 2011 I have been active on local economy, housing and environment issues with Croydon TUC and Croydon Assembly. I give history talks and lead history walks. I retired in 2012 having worked in the community/voluntary sector and on heritage projects. My history interests include labour movement, mutuality, Black British, slavery & abolition, Edwardian roller skating and the social and political use of music and song. I have a particular interest in the histories of Battersea and Wandsworth, Croydon and Lambeth. I have a publishing imprint History & Social Action Publications.
